No rest is worth anything except the rest that is earned.

Quote by Paul Jean

Finally reached the most important day of the week, the rest day. All that training is meant to push the body to adapt, but if you don’t give it a chance to recover and adapt, then all that work would have been useless.

Here’s a quick look back at the 10 sessions I’ve done in the week:

Monday AM: Gym Session PM: Discus Session

Tuesday AM: Running drills, 3x30m acceleration drills. PM: High Jump drills, 200m followed by 100m after walk back.

Wednesday: Session with my physiotherapist and had acupuncture done to my legs.

Thursday AM: Javelin throws, Running drills, 3x 5 stride low hurdle runs. PM: Jumps and Plyometrics session.

Friday AM: Shot Put session. PM: Gym session.

Saturday AM: Running drills, 6x 1 min 95% VO2 max runs.

Might not seem that much on paper, but this time the difference between what I’m doing this season and the last season is that I’m focusing on doing every single damn thing right.

I can’t help but keep replaying an earlier video that I’ve posted to remind myself everyday why I didn’t succeed in the last three years.

I put myself in the place of most potential to achieve my dreams but I just expected things to happen and went through the motion, wasting a large part of my last 3 years.

I can’t do anything to get that time back now, all I can do is to seize the time I have left.

It’s time to be the best that I can be.
